“Strand” is an arrangement of wires laid helically around a center wire, to produce a symmetrical section. This can be used as an individual load-carrying tension member. “Wire rope” is a plurality of strands laid helically around a core. The core may be a fiber or plastic rope, another steel strand, or a small wire rope.
The 6 x 19 cable cross section shows 6 strands spun around an independent wire rope core (IWRC). The cut-away view can clarify further.
Regular Lay, the wires are twisted in one direction to form the strands, and the strands in the opposite direction to form the rope. Lang Lay ropes have the wires in the strands, and the strands in the rope, twisted in the same direction. Regular Lay is the accepted standard for wire ropes.
Generally the wires used in structural cables are cold drawn from steel rods. A typical round wire has a tensile strength in the range 1.6 作者:

It is very true, "好象看到的数据差异很大". There are dozens of different cable constructions for different applications such as hoisting cable, rigging cable, mooring cable, aircraft cable, elevator cable, structural cable and many more.
In membrane business, quality of cables is very important. Manufactures will provide correct information only if engineers know what to ask. In order to get rid of construction elongation, it is necessary to pre-stretch the cables. By pre-stretching the cable, you will have higher E value and linear rate of elongation which is what you assume in your computer analysis.作者:
