FIFTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SPACE STRUCTURES
19-21 AUGUST 2002
Background and Aims
During the last four decades the Space Structures Research Centre of the University of Surrey has organised four major international conferences on space structures. The Fifth International Conference in this series pursues the same goal of bringing together all those interested in various aspects of space structures. The scope of the Conference encompasses studies related to the analysis, design and construction of structures such as single, double and multi-layer grids, barrel vaults, domes, towers, pyramidal forms, foldable structures, pneumatic systems, cable networks, membrane structures, retractable systems, space station units and antenna reflectors. No limitations on the type of structural material are imposed and the scope of the Conference will include structures constructed in steel, concrete, aluminium, timber, fabric, glass and polymer composites.
The Fifth International Conference on Space Structures will be held at the University of Surrey from Monday 19th to Wednesday 21st of August 2002. At the end of the Conference there will be an IASS colloquium on Timber Space Structures. A joint conference registration is available.
