索作为柔性构件，在施加预应力之前（垂度很大）到后来施加了预应力（但由于自重作用特别当索长度很大时还是不能忽略垂度）整个过程当中都不能忽略垂度。如果已经知道索两端节点位置和索内力，如何求解索原长？

在自重作用下，索是条悬链线。O‘rient 的文章中已经有了已知索两端节点坐标和两端张力的前提下求解索原长的公式。可能还必须通过迭代来实现。以下文章可以找到相关解答。
